Immersive & Interactive Light Night

Kingsford Events were engaged to provide H&S advisory services for the production of the Worcester Light Nights event 2022. A Two nights of immersive and interactive artwork and walkabout performances across Worcester City Centre.

We spent a couple of months working with festival producers and the techincal production teams providing event safety advisory services for the delivery of the event.

Challenged by the high winds of Storms Dudley, Eunice and Franklin all within the space of a week along with the effects of severe flooding from the River Severn onto the highways serving the city and the edge of our footprint. The time spent in planning working with the festival team was critical to the thorough understanding of the event and the city spaces, allowing dynamic revisions and use of contingency plans to adapt and respond to the circumstances as to not have to lose any creative content. Providing ESMP, risk assessments, crowd safety planning, SAG liaison, contractor and artist documentation auditing, contractor inductions, our wind monitoring and alert system as well as onsite support and advice. The challenges of producing an outdoor event in the UK in February in a city that has a high frequency of flooding are what we thrive on, and it was a great pleasure to work with the whole team and the various stakeholders and to do it in our home city.
